Aiong with the exhibit Gods and Heroes: Masterpieces from the École des Beaux-Arts the Portland Art Museum has partnered with the Alliance Francaise de Portland to celebrate Bastille Day and all things French art and culture. This year the largest Bastille Day on the West Coast comes to the Museum’s courtyard with art-making, music, performances, and tasty French treats.
Admission to the Museum is free all day.
I'm thrilled about Bastille Day too! The museum has asked me to paint a master copy on-site of one of the master works in the exhibit. The idea is offer insights into the process and answer questions about painting in the École tradition. I will be painting from 2 -5pm this Saturday July 11th and and next Saturday July 18th. Stop by, say hello, practice some français and enjoy the exhibit and the treats. Vive la France!
